Hua Chenyu on Esquire magazine

Last week, Hua Chenyu studio set up an official account on Instagram and an official channel on YouTube. On October 5, Hua Chenyu Global Fanclub posted links to Hua’s new accounts. Curiously though, Hua Chenyu Studio’s official Weibo account only posted a screenshot of Hua’s freshly-minted Instagram account, with no text mentioning Hua’s newly established presence on the two western platforms.

With such a cryptic message, it’s safe to assume that Hua Chenyu Studio took a leap of faith in creating the Instagram and YouTube accounts, since mainland Chinese entertainment companies remain on precarious ground with the powers that be when it comes to establishing western social media presence. And it’s heartwarming to see Hua trying to reach out to overseas fans (despite risks and uncertainties). Hopefully this will be the start of a wonderful journey. And we wish Hua Hua all the best in his brave foray into uncharted territory.

Here’s a recent Hua Chenyu interview to brighten up your day.

    1. That would be a fantastic idea! Though I imagine there would be some hurdles to go through before they can do that. But now that you’ve put the idea in my head, I can’t stop wishing it would come true 😆 it’s so tantalizing! Gaaaah!
