As of December 23, 2019, twenty days after Hua Chenyu’s latest single dedicated to depression sufferers, “I Really Want to Love This World (好想爱这个世界啊)”, hit the digital shelves on NetEase Music, the song has sold some 10.74 million copies to more than 2.4 million listeners, breaking Jay Chou’s record (10.61 million for “Won’t Cry (说好不哭)”) of most digital copies sold for a music single in China according to music sales tracking website Saoju.
In other news, BAZAAR Men announced on Weibo today that Hua Chenyu will be featured on the cover of their January 2020 issue, available for pre-order on Chinese online shopping platform Tmall. (Looks like it has already sold out in China, oops. But it might still be available in other countries.)
With Hua Hua’s music to soothe our weariness of yesteryear, here’s wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a sparkling 2020!
